Starting this week, designers will present their Fall 2014 collections at New York Fashion Week, but the drama takes place in the between and after – during the wee hours at after-parties and post-show dinners going down every night across the city. Here is a rundown of the hottest hangouts, where an A-list bevy of models, celebrities, editors, and general scenesters can be expected to touch down.
The Marlton Hotel: Brought to you by the ever-hip Sean MacPherson and team (brainchild and hotelier behind The Jane and Montauk’s Crows Nest), this new hotel spot on the on West 8th Street will house editors needing a quick bite between shows.
Back Bar: A tree-adorned space, reminiscent of an Italian villa, will be uncovered as the place to see-and-be-seen this fashion week. Right on the edge of the West Side Highway in Chelsea, it’s easy to miss unless you’re in-the-know.
The Top of the Standard (or, the “Boom Boom Room”) : A perennial fashion week favorite, this hangout on the top floor of The Standard hotel enforces one of the toughest door policies in New York. Once inside, you’ll catch international socialites as well as young designers blowing off post-show steam.
Electric Room: Opened by nightlife legend Nur Khan, this bunker-like bar at theDream Hotelis the last spot of the night for serious fashion week revelry. The vibe here is pure rock ‘n’ roll, complete with graffiti walls and plush leather couches.
